    University of Southern Mississippi

    Swimming, miniature golf, paddle boats, fishing, picnic area, children's playground, basketball, horeshoes, tetherball and volleyball.   • Paul B Johnson State Park
    300 acre lake with group facilities, nature trails, paddle boats, canoeing, fishing and an 18 hold Disc Golf course. Picnic areas contain double and single shelters and six large pavilions. Visitors Center offers souvenirs, game room, restrooms and a room available for meetings or banquet meals. Primitive camping, RV camping and cabins available. Call for fees.

  • Kamper Park
    Home of the Hattiesburg Zoo, David Anthony Tennis Complex, Exchange Club baseball fields, and a walking and exercise area, this park features a covered pavilion, playgrounds and picnic areas. Open dawn to dusk. Free admission.

  • All-American Rose Garden
    Located at the University of Southern Mississippi

    This garden features 750 hybrid-T and Grandiflora patented rose bushes. Open year-round, blooming season is late spring and summer. Free admission.

  • Hattiesburg Zoo at Kamper Park
    Located in the heart of Hattiesburg, this 21-acre zoo is home to lemurs, llamas, macaws, monkeys, prairie dogs and tigers. Monkeys, zebras, oryx and ostrich live in the zoo's African Veldt. Visitors can ride the Kamper Park and Southern Railroad, a miniature train that runs on a half-mile track through the zoo. Free admission, nominal fee for train rides.
